This public dog playground is situated on coastal land which offers 177 acres of property and 1.4 miles of beach to explore. Housed on the grounds are two fenced play areas where dogs can enjoy running, roughhousing, and romping without the need for a leash. To address the needs of dogs who are small, shy, or senior, one of the play spaces has been reserved specifically for their use.Â
Here, a gentler play style more suited to these types of dogs reigns. In accordance with Miami law, all owners must be in possession of a lead at all times and must keep their dogs leashed when not in a designated off-leash zone. Access to Haulover Dog Park is granted to all dogs and their owners at no cost, but, there is a fee for parking. Weekday parking fees are $5 with costs increasing to $7 on the weekends.Â
The dog run areas are equipped with all of the amenities needed for a great day at the dog park. To ensure Fido stays well-hydrated, the runs are complete with drinking water. Also on the grounds are benches in well-shaded areas to provide respite from the heat of the day. Complimentary poop bags are available via dispensers.Â
Laws require all owners to clean up after their pets. There is also some on-site agility equipment to help keep Fido's brain and body well-exercised. The beach at Haulover Dog Park offers many attractions for families to enjoy including boat ramps, a dock, fuel pumps, marinas, and bathrooms for public use.Â
It is important to note that flotation devices of any sort are strictly prohibited at this facility. Dogs may freely enjoy the beach located near to the Lifeguard Tower #3 between the hours of 8 AM through 3 PM on Mondays through Sundays of each week.Â
There are no officially posted regulations regarding the use of Haulover Dog Park. However, Miami legislation requires that all dogs enjoying public spaces be current on vaccinations. In addition to this, a city dog license is mandatory. Tags as proof of both should be prominently displayed on each dog's collar. For a day of fun at a great Florida beach, bring Fido and the family to Haulover Dog Park!Â
