Highland Oaks Park

Your pawtastic pup cannot wait another minute to head outdoors, so why not pack them up and get over to Highland Oaks Park in the beautiful city of Miami, Florida.  They will have lots of fun spending some quality time with you. Located in the northern part of the county near the Oleta River, this park has dedicated parking and is easily accessed. Leave your car at the main entrance parking lot, grab your pup and their leash, and head out for a great adventure!

This park is not only a gathering place for the community, with lots of features for all, but is also an area for migrating birds. This natural river wetland is the only one of its kind in the county, and is the perfect location for a getaway with your puptastic dog! There are boardwalks which accent the landscape to walk on and a couple of hiking trails, all of which are pup and bicycle friendly! The Spring Lake Trail and the Black Oak Barren Trail are two of the most popular for area residents. No matter which one your pup chooses, it will surely be a hit and easily traversed by any pup-ability. 

Before you leave, make sure to check out the park’s other amenities, including a lake which is a great place to relax with your furever friend, a fishing dock, sports fields and courts, and a jogging path with fitness stations along the way. Restrooms are easily accessed at the main entrance, and there are plenty of drinking fountains where you can get water for your furry friend. Keep Fido on leash throughout your visit and please remember to clean up after them with your own mutt mitts.
