To benefit small, shy, and senior dogs, one of the two enclosures has been designed for their use. Since dogs of this nature can be easily injured during play with larger or more exuberant dogs, the reserved space allows them the opportunity for off-leash exercise and socialization with dogs better suited to their size, personality, and age. While off-leash activity is encouraged in both play spaces at Hollandia Dog Park, the emphasis is placed on safety.
With this in mind, all dogs owners are required to carry a leash with them. Additionally, dogs must be leashed when entering and exiting the facility and in all areas of Hollandia Park. The Hollandia Dog Park is pleased to offer access to their grounds to the community at no cost. The dog play areas are lined with grass and offer plentiful shade to keep dogs and their owners cool during their visit to the park.
Water is provided on the grounds to ensure Fido has an opportunity for a cool drink when needed. There is also a rinse area in case a quick cleanup would be helpful before the trip home. This beloved dog play haven earns high marks from visitors for its secluded location and beautiful grounds. Though there are no bathrooms housed directly in the dog park, there are public washrooms in nearby Hollandia Park that owners may use.
Poop bags are provided on the grounds, and owners are asked to use them to clean up after their pets as is required by California state law. Family-centric Hollandia Park offers many recreational attractions for families to enjoy. Among the great outdoor adventures available on the premises are a jungle gym, skate park, baseball diamonds, a climbing wall, walking trails, barbecues, and horseshoes. Park officials do warn that snakes, mountain lions, opossums, and poison oak are all replete on the trail areas.
Owners should keep their dogs from disturbing wild animals in their natural habitat and stick strictly to all marked paths. Dogs are to remain leashed on all trails. There are no officially posted rules regarding the use of Hollandia Dog Park's play areas. However, it is always wise for all dogs to be vaccinated as well as licensed with their respective city.
