Hoover Dog Park

The Herbert Hoover Park has 4.2 acres of space that include children's playgrounds, youth baseball fields, tennis and handball courts, picnic areas, benches, a walkway around the park, and best of all for you and Fido- a fenced in dog run. Be sure to keep Fido on his leash until you get to the dog park and keep a close eye on your dog because big and small dogs play together here. Regardless of the size of your dog, dogs may not be left alone in the dog park. The city also requires that aggressive dogs are muzzled. 

The dog park is only a small portion of this large park but still has enough space for your four-legged friend to run around. The dog park features water fountains to keep your pup hydrated, but be mindful of overflowing water and the potential for mud. The ground is mostly sand and gravel, so your dog might kick up some dust and dirt and he may need a bath later. There are trees so your dog can run around on and then take a break in the shade on hot days. And you can take a seat on one of the benches that are in the park as your pup runs around.

The park does not have bags, so remember to take your own, but they do have pooper scoopers to make clean up easier for you. It seems that most visitors pick up after their dogs and it's uncommon to find forgotten poop. Many visitors report that the dog park isn't too crowded, which will leave plenty of room for Fido to run and play. Be sure to bring a tennis ball or something to keep him entertained.
