The Ida Reed Dog Park is a mid-sized, fenced dog park in Beaumont, Texas. This park is immaculate. The Ida Reed Dog Park stays very clean throughout the year, the grass is regularly cut, but there are few spots where high traffic wears it down. Poop bags are available at the entrance to the fenced dog park.
This park is best utilized for socializing as it gets a decent amount of traffic, but space is a little too limiting to wear out an energetic canine. Games like fetch would be possible here, but you would only be able to throw in one direction, and the fence makes the area narrow. Running water is available here, and there are fountains so you and your canine can stay hydrated.
Very few trees line the area, and no trees can be found inside the fenced area. There are also no pavilions or shade producing structures in the area. This means on a hot day there is very little protection from the sun. Some agility equipment can be found at the Ida Reed Dog Park, and there is ample seating available.
Benches are placed along the fence line of the park in regular intervals. Outside of the Ida Reed Dog Park, the remainder of the park has some attractions for the rest of the family. There are playgrounds nearby and some sports fields. Public restrooms can be found here and are open during daylight hours year round.
The Ida Reed Dog Park has a convenient location right off of the highway and does not require and memberships. This makes this park ideal for those traveling through the area with their canine. This park makes for a wonderful relief from the enclosing of a vehicle for many hours. It is regularly maintained, and there is free public parking quite near the dog park.
