The Jody Giannini Family Dog Park's two fenced play areas are located near the basketball courts. Once inside the gates, your pup can ditch the leash and romp freely! One of the runs has been designed with the littlest pupperonis in mind, while the other is a wonderland for big dogs to explore. The dog park is comprised of grassy land with many trees dotting it for shade, all regularly maintained. Benches are available for you to rest while your dog romps with furry friends.
The park provides fresh water and clean-up bags, but you may want to bring a bowl for your pup's convenience. Always stoop and scoop anywhere in the dog park, and throughout Del Mar Park too. To play in this pupperdise, your dog should be current on all vaccines, and have a license tag on their collar. Keep an eye on your dog, and the leash on anywhere outside the fenced in areas. Bathrooms for the humans are available at the family-fur-iendly Del Mar Park for the pawblic to use.
The fun doesn't have to end when you leave the dog park. Fido is free to join you at Del Mar Park as well, so long as he remains leashed. Here, you will find all kinds of doggone amazing things to do such as basketball, pickleball, horseshoes, and there is even a playground for the kiddoes to enjoy too! If a picnic is what you had in mind, Del Mar Park has lots of woofderful picnic areas that even have barbecues. If you fancy a stroll after your lunch, Del Mar Park is home to a meadow and many walking paths where you and Fido can while away the hours together, reconnecting with nature.
Parking is available for free at the south end of the park near the Ironwood Avenue entrance, with preferred parking near the northern end at the end off of Panorama Drive available for $2 a day. Portions of the park are available for rental, including the dog park.
