The Katy Dog Park is a spacious piece of ground which has been designated as an off-leash area specifically for exercising dogs in the city of Katy, Texas. There is a large parking lot adjacent to the dog park entrance. This dog park is a massive fourteen acres of parkland which incorporates half a mile of pathways for walking and a swimming pond for the dogs. A separate section has been cordoned off for small dogs.
The dog park, which is clean and well maintained, has been fully enclosed with very high chain link fencing. It is surfaced with grass and sandy dirt. There are mature trees throughout the off-leash area which offer great shade on sunny days. As well as the swimming pond, the off-leash area has a special dog washing station, fire hydrants, and agility equipment. Dog-friendly water fountains have been installed throughout the park. There are poop bag dispensers on site and owners are obliged to pick up and responsibly dispose of all fecal matter produced by their dogs.
Pet owners using the off-leash facility are requested to comply with the dog park rules. Children under ten years of age are not allowed in the off-leash area. Those between ten and eighteen must be accompanied by a responsible adult. Under no circumstances should dogs be left unattended at any time. Owners are restricted to exercising no more than three dogs. All dogs using the off-leash area must be licensed with the local authorities and have their vaccinations current.
This is a very large dog park and owners should keep their dogs in constant eye contact as well as under good voice control. Owners are required to keep their pet's leash in hand while in the off-leash area. Any dog displaying anti-social behavior should be removed straight away from the dog park.
