The Kirk Munroe Park is located within the Coconut Grove neighborhood of Miami Florida. This lovely neighborhood park gives locals, visitors, and their dogs, a green space to relax and enjoy some quality time outdoors. This park is mostly known for its excellent tennis facilities, including five courts and a wall for playing solo. Dogs are not allowed on the courts, but not to worry, there is plenty of open space and greenery that your pup will love!
The main entrance to the tennis center can be found on the east side of the park on Matilda Street, or you can access the open green space directly from the south side of the park on Florida Avenue. Here you’ll find an expansive grassy space that your pups will love to dig their toes into! The whole area is fenced in, but please keep in mind that dogs still need to stay leashed while within the park. Meter parking can be found on surrounding streets.
The tables and grass in this park are the perfect place for a picnic, so why not pack a lunch? There are also some restaurants along Grand Avenue, just south of Kirk Munroe Park, where you can grab something to go and eat it in the park with your best pal.
Some other furtastic features in this park include plenty of shade trees, a jungle gym and fitness equipment. These features make the Kirk Munroe Park a great place for a family outing, a pass through on your run for some cross training, or a break in the shade. Either way, it’s a breath of fresh air!
Along with keeping your pups leashed, please be sure that they are always picked up after. Don’t forget the waste bags, and some doggy drinking water if you plan on staying a while.Â
Spending a little time with Fido in this park is sure to get his tail wagging!
