Laguna Niguel Pooch Park is a public dog park located in Laguna Niguel, California. The one-acre dog park is fully fenced and conveniently located, enabling dog owners in the community to enjoy a safe environment where they can bring their four-legged family members for off-leash playtime, exercise, and socialization.
This popular, off-leash dog park has a simple layout consisting of two dog areas with a main, large run for big dog breeds and a much smaller enclosure for the small dog breeds. Since the small dog enclosure doesn’t provide much space and it can only be accessed through the main dog run, many dog owners end up allowing their pooches to run in the large enclosure instead.Â
Please keep that in mind if you have a small, timid dog that is afraid of bigger dogs as it might not be the ideal dog park for you. However, if your little companion is more than happy to play and keep up with the bigger dog breeds then it is not a problem!
The park’s surface is made up of woodchips which helps keep the dust down and prevents playtime from getting muddy on rainier days. The dog park is equipped with several picnic tables and shaded shelters thus allowing owners to comfortably keep their dogs in sight while they roam and explore leash-free.Â
There is also a fire hydrant, a water faucet along with some buckets for canine hydration, and a portable restroom nearby for the dog owners' convenience. There is also a waste bag dispenser and trash cans located at the entrance to the dog park so make sure to clean up after your pooch if you visit this great park.
Though usually there are plenty of parking spots available, keep in mind that the dog park is a few minutes away by walk from the parking lot. It can be accessed either through a trail that runs behind the Fire Station number 49 or from the Golden Lantern sidewalk.
