This park is about 450 acres surrounding the 80 acre Lake Elizabeth, and has something in it for everybody and fur-buddy. A pawrific feature of this park, is the Central Park Dog Park! The dog park is located in the northwest end of Central Park, adjacent to the Fremont Animal Shelter. It can be accessed from Stevenson Boulevard. This park provides a safe place for pups to burn off some energy in glorious off-leash freedom, while getting the chance to make some furry friends. The dog park has two separate fenced off areas, one for the smaller breeds and another for the big guys. The park features artificial turf, lighting, and benches. On a hot summer day, no need to fear, there is also shade structures and drinking water for the people and puppers. There are scoops provided, so please pick up after your doggo.
The rest of the park welcomes dogs too as long as they stay leashed and follow proper petiquette. The paved pathway surrounding Lake Elizabeth is about two miles, and is easy on the paws and the eyes. Some other ways to enjoy the lake include fishing, renting a boat, and wildlife watching. There are reserved picnic sites and drop-in picnic sites, that are pawfect for family gatherings, including the family dog of course!
