As a reservoir situated on the Navidad River near Edna, Texas, Texana Park and Campground offers a number of outdoor recreation options. As a part of the Brackenridge Recreation Complex, the park offers everything from camping sites right on the lake to hiking, picnicking, outdoor sports, and more.
Lake Texana is a 10,000-acre lake with 125 miles of shoreline. The lake is regularly stocked with fish that help improve recreational fishing. The campground at Texana Park offers 141 sites, ranging from partial hook-up sites for tents to fully equipped RV sites. Visitors can choose between sites right on the water at Lake Texana Cove or those nestled among the oak trees. Reservations may be made in advance by calling the park office or using the park’s website. The fees for camping vary depending on the type of site you’re looking for
If you bring your dog with you on your visit, always be sure to keep them on a leash no longer than six feet in length at all times, and do not allow your dog to dig, disturb wildlife, or become a nuisance to other visitors. Come prepared with your own waste bags and always pick up after your pet.
If you go hiking with your dog, always come prepared with plenty of water for you and your pet. Also, use caution by notifying someone else where you’re going and when you expect to return. Be alert and wary of hazards on the trail. So, if you’re in Southeast Texas near the Houston or San Antonio area, consider stopping by Texana Park and Campground, and you’ll enjoy a day or a weekend enjoying the beautiful lake and the great outdoors.
