Situated along the shores of the lovely Clear Lake in Kelseyville, California, is Lakeside County Park. This park has about 53 acres of shoreline, and something in it for everybody or fur-buddy. Not only is it beautiful here, but there are plenty of things to do. The nearby water and expansive natural areas are sure to be a breath of fresh air! A very pawpular place to play, is the designated off-leash dog area!
This off-leash dog park provides a safe and spacious area for pups to enjoy some pawsitive socialization, and burn off some steam. The atmosphere is clean and friendly, making it a joy for the pet parents too! Don’t forget to bring along some doggy waste bags and drinking water for your parched pup. When your dog sees the grassy expanse ahead of them, they’re definitely going to want their favorite ball or frisbee to play fetch with as well. Please keep a close eye on your dog and watch for aggressive behavior so that this can remain a safe haven for everyone.
Leashed dogs are welcome to explore the rest of the park with their two-legged friends. If you and your best pal want to go out for a paddle, you can make use of the boat launches. For the pups and people who would rather stay dry, you can still enjoy some fishing, or simply the views of the water from the picnic tables under the tall trees. This area near the water also attracts a wide variety of migratory birds and wildlife.
The fun doesn’t end there! Some other features of Lakeside County Park include barbecues, swimming areas, a variety of athletic fields, restrooms, and horseshoe pits. Please make sure you pup stays leashed when they’re not within the fenced off dog area, and picked up after at all times. With the seemingly endless amount of things to do in Lakeside County Park, it’s enough to keep the entire family, including the dog, happy.
