Description
Las Palmas Dog Park, located at the edge of the family-friendly Las Palmas Park in Sunnyvale, California, is a favorite spot for dogs and their owners. This public dog facility boasts of both grass and dirt runs for your dog's off-leash enjoyment. In 2013, the city council of Sunnyvale voted to invest $100,000 into upgrades for this valued dog park. At this time, a proposed move was researched with the overall findings being that it was more cost effective to maintain and improve the park's current location.

Las Palmas Dog Park consists of two separate, fully fenced-in enclosures. One section is dedicated to small dog use and is limited to dogs that are 25 pounds or less in weight. The second fenced area is designated for larger dogs. The fenced play areas are shaded by trees to help keep the enclosures cool. Poop bags and pooper scoopers are also provided, and all owners are required to pick up and properly dispose of all canine waste materials to help preserve the cleanliness of the park.

Park officials have ensured access to plentiful, clean drinking water for your dog's use. Friends of the park have also donated toys such as balls and frisbees for communal enjoyment. Benches have been incorporated throughout shady areas of the park to allow dog owners to remain cool and comfortable while observing their dogs at play.

The Las Palmas Dog Park earns high marks for its well-maintained landscaping, attention to detail, and spacious property. While the park is much loved in general, some owners have noted that the fencing bears gaps in construction which could prove hazardous to smaller dogs prone to mischievous escape attempts. Care must always be taken to properly supervise all play time to avoid any potential injuries.

Dogs visiting the Las Palmas Dog Park must be up to date on all vaccinations and must bear the proper license tag for their state. Owners are limited to a maximum of two dogs per person. Any dogs exhibiting poor manners or aggressive behavior must vacate the premises. Out of respect for all dogs in attendance at the park, dogs in heat are not permitted on the property until their season has ended. For a great time with your canine friend, consider a trip to Las Palmas Dog Park!
