In all other areas of Las Trampas Regional Wilderness, dogs must remain on a lead. Dogs are strictly prohibited from being on any of the athletic fields. There are mixed reports as to whether or not dogs are permitted on the on-site trails. Those wishing to take Fido along while hiking the trails should first seek permission from the Las Trampas Regional Wilderness park officials. It is important to note the property, in its entirety, is unfenced.
To ensure the safety of all dogs, owners should only allow dogs with solid recalls to be off-leash in the appropriately designated areas. Las Trampas Regional Wilderness Off-Leash Dog Area is a public park, and access to its premises are offered at no cost. In keeping with the theme of untouched natural land, there are no on-site amenities housed on the grounds. For this reason, owners should come prepared with all of the things needed for a day at the park including bottled water, a dog dish, and poop bags.
Though the property consists largely of wilderness, owners are still expected to take responsibility for cleaning up after their pets. Among the attractions at this beautiful park are wildflowers, stables, a natural historic site, plant life, wildlife, hiking, horseback riding, birdwatching, and biking. For those who love to camp, Las Trampas Regional Wilderness offers the ideal backdrop.
Picnic tables are also provided for those wishing to rest after a vigorous day of hiking or to enjoy a light lunch or snack. There are no official rules in place for those enjoying this wilderness paradise. However, having your dog vaccinated and in possession of a city dog license would never go amiss. For a great day in an unforgettable landscape, bring Fido and the family to Las Trampas Regional Wilderness Off-Leash Dog Area!
