Former Carrollton mayor Matthew Marchant once described the McInnish Dog Park as “the Disneyland of dog parks.” The canines who have been to this puptastic spot will certainly agree that it's the happiest place on Earth!
Covering 4 acres of grassy land behind the Carrollton Animal Services building, the McInnish Dog Park consists of three fenced-in sections where the city's four-legged residents and visitors can romp and socialize sans leash. Aside from the usual small and large dog areas, a third enclosure is available to give the first two sections seasonal breaks and allow the turf to recover. All areas provide canine visitors with plenty of room to run, pawfect for active doggos with lots of energy to burn!
In addition, McInnish is equipped with drinking fountains, mutt mitt dispensers, trash receptacles, covered picnic tables, and large trees that provide ample shade. There's also a natural pond in the middle that's always a hit among the park's furry visitors, plus a small splash pad that gives them another spot to cool off. It goes without saying that your pup will quickly get muddy at this dog park, but don't let that stop you from visiting as there are wash stations where you can clean your pooch up before heading home.
Speaking of cleaning up, dog parents are required to pick up and dispose of their four-legged charges' waste both in and out of the park. You're also expected to keep Fido on a leash when leaving and arriving, only removing it once you're inside the gate. Before you bring your best pal to make new friends at McInnish, make sure that their vaccinations are up-to-date, and leave the treats in the car as food is not allowed in the park.
A barking good time awaits you and your pup at the McInnish Dog Park!
