McVicker Canyon Dog Park

Located at Grand Avenue and McVicker Canyon Park Road, McVicker Canyon Park boasts of a dog park, a skate park, and two large baseball and softball fields. A reasonably quiet park where people can go to relax, with or without their dogs, it has become a favorite place of locals. This fenced dog park caters to canines of all sizes, and this off-leash area is located in the lower ball field.

A little after six in the evening seems to the perfect time for everyone to head out to the McVicker Canyon Dog Park with their pooches. There are enough trees for shade during hot and sunny afternoons, as well as free dog poop bags so you can help ensure that the park stays clean for other people and furbabies to enjoy. 

There is only a single area for dogs of different sizes, but it is fully equipped with agility equipment, so Spike gets his required exercise, gets to have fun, and learns to socialize with others at the same time. There are restrooms in the vicinity for people who would like to use the toilet.

The actual playground at McVicker Canyon Dog Park is very nice as it is never crowded. Some people wish that more dogs would come, so their pooches have someone to play. It is a great place to walk a few laps and hang out by the skate park and observe the skaters there. 

The park opened its gates in 2009, is considerably new and is closed during the weekends for maintenance, which can be a bummer for some pet parents as most of them have more time in their hands on weekends to take their furbabies out. Although there is water for dogs in the park, it sometimes does not work, so it is still a fantastic idea to bring a full water jug with your so Spike does not get thirsty while having fun.
