Want to make your dog’s day? Then clip on the leash and head over to Moran Lake Park. It may be surrounded by houses, but a walk through this nine acre park will give your pal a nice break from the hustle and bustle of life.
The northeast end of the park has a woofderful trail that
meanders through a thick forest of trees. As they trot along the path, your pooch can
search for the pawfect stick and reconnect with nature. Before you know it, you’ll
come to Moran Lake. It’s not very large, but it definitely adds some beauty to
the park. A few picnic benches are situated along the lake’s shore. Paws for a
break so your pal can breathe in the fragrance of the eucalyptus trees. Be sure to bring anything you may need, such as water to share, snacks, and clean-up bags.
The southwest side of the park is actually a beach. Leashed
doggos are allowed to sniff their way around the surf and enjoy the sights and
sounds of Monterey Bay. If the tide is out, you can walk around the rocky
barriers, just make sure your dog’s paws don’t get injured. Bring a blanket and
a picnic and settle in for the afternoon. Fishing and surfing are pupular
activities here. What a puptastic place to spend some time with your canine companion!
This park is off the beaten path of tourists, but it is
quite pupular with the local pet parents since many of the nearby parks don’t
allow dogs. Your furry BFF will
likely get the chance to meet new furriends. Parking is free, but it can fill
up on the weekends.Â
No bones about it, a visit to Moran Lake Park will make
your pup one happy hound!
