Mountain View Dog Park (near Shoreline Park)
To maintain Shoreline Park's vision as a safe space for animals in their natural habitats, domesticated animals are prohibited from this portion of the park. However, the City of Mountain View's Dog Park was designed with all things canine in mind.
Dogs must be leashed when traveling to and from the designated dog play space areas. In these locations, dogs may play freely without the encumbrance of a lead. The enclosures designed for play are fully fenced and divided into sections for small dogs and large dogs. For the safety of all animals involved, small dogs are not permitted in the large dog runs at any time.
Picnic tables have been provided throughout the dog park to serve as areas to provide shelter from the sun. They are not intended as areas for the enjoyment of meals though snacks and drinks are permitted. There is a disabled-accessible portable restroom available for use as well.
There are aspects of the larger park area where dogs with appropriate licenses issued by the City of Mountain View can participate in off-leash training with their owners. Applications can be found online and submitted with appropriate documentation and payment for approval by the city.
The City of Mountain View's Dog Park provides plentiful access to fresh water for your dog's hydration needs. The park does provide animal waste bags and dispensers and owners must promptly pick up and dispose of their dog's waste materials.
There are no posted regulations though it is advisable that dogs be properly vaccinated and bear their state dog licensing tag. Dogs lacking in appropriate canine manners or who display aggression should refrain from attending the park.
This park is lauded by pet owners as being clean and meticulously maintained.
