Northeast Dog Park is a public Dog Park located at the Northeast Park in Gainesville, Florida. In addition to the dog park, the city park is home to softball and baseball fields, tennis courts, playgrounds, picnic areas, public restrooms and a spacious parking lot. It is a popular location for outdoor family fun for those who live in town or the nearby neighborhoods. The dog park can be found next to the duck pond.
This awesome dog park is securely fenced and has a well-designed layout that is made up of two large areas for dogs to roam around in without a leash - one that is meant for small dog breeds and another for the massive hounds. The dog park is covered with grass and mulch. Pine trees are growing within the off-leash areas, as well as around them.
Both of the dog runs at the Northeast Dog Park offer lots of shade for dogs and owners to enjoy and cool off in. Since there are benches conveniently placed throughout the park, dog owners can sit back and relax while they supervise their canine companions as they play and socialize with other furbabies.
The dog park is equipped with trash cans and free dog waste bag dispensers which helps keep the park clean and poop-free. If you visit, make sure to do your part and tidy up after your pooch. In addition to the above, the park features water fountains that keep canines hydrated and dog owners happy. Though the park rarely gets muddy, it is a good idea to bring a paw towel during hot weather when it gets dusty.
Even though the Northeast Dog Park offers more than enough room for dogs to run and play, dog owners also have an option to take their four-legged family members on leashed walks along the beautifully forested nature paths that run through the park. However, since they are not well lit, it is best to go during the daylight.
