Parking for the dog park is at the parking area for the Oak Canyon Community Park.Ā The community park is a spacious and pretty park, with plenty of parking, paved trails, water fountains, and benches. One of those trails leads to a small valley, where the mountains begin to open up to a gorgeous grassy field, surrounded by bare ridges and deserts after half a mile of walking. The path ends at the fenced-in area of the Oak Canyon Dog Park. Be sure to keep your pup leashed until you get to the dog park.
When you enter the dog park, you'll be greeted with a double gatedĀ entrance for the small and large dog areas. The small dog area is on the right and has a few trees, with benches, clean-up stations, human-sized and dog-sized water fountains, and a shaded sitting area. The large dog area is on the left and offers more room to run around, along with water, some shade, and benches to sit at. The entire terrain is made up of grass, and although there isn't much shade, the valley brings in a nice breeze through the area that will be sure to cool off you and your pup after playing.
Plenty of open space, well-maintained, and lots of amenities will make this park a top pick for you and your pup to keep visiting, especially thanks to the loving dog community and friendly humans that also visit the park.
