Though the enclosures are designated off leash zones, dogs are required to remain on a lead when travelling to and from the dog runs as well as in all other areas of the park. Owners are asked to carry a leash with them at all times in case of an emergency situation.
Entrance to this doggy play haven is free of charge. There are no bathroom facilities for public use on the grounds. Water is provided to help meet all of Fido's hydration needs; however, there are no bowls in the dog play spaces. For this reason, it is suggested that owners bring a vessel suitable for drinking with them. Benches are scattered throughout the area in central locations to provide a quiet place where owners can relax and enjoy watching their dogs at play.Â
The play areas are lined with sand and artificial grass to provide a soft surface that is easy on the joints. This helps to prevent any potential injuries. It is not known if poop bags are provided on-site. However, in accordance with California state law, it is the responsibility of all owners to pick up and properly dispose of all canine waste.Â
Though no other rules govern the use of this public space, it is highly recommended that all dogs bear the appropriate required state license tag on their collars and be current on vaccinations. For a great time at a popular urban dog park, bring Fido for a run at Otay Ranch Town Center Dog Park!Â
