Pleasant Oak Dog Park is a public dog park located at the Pleasant Oak Park in Windsor, California. In addition to the dog park, the eight-and-a-half-acre park is home to picnic areas, athletic fields, a volleyball court, playgrounds and horseshoe pits. The Pleasant Oak Dog Park has a simple layout that is made up of a single area for dogs of all breeds and sizes to enjoy together leash-free.
Although the Pleasant Oak Dog Park is conveniently located and easily accessible with a nearby parking lot, it is only a quarter of an acre which might not be enough room for large dog breeds to stretch their legs or run to get their daily dose of exercise. It is a decent amount of space for small dog breeds to play and socialize in a safe environment.
The dog park is securely fenced and double-gated which reduces the chance of any canines slipping out as others enter the Pleasant Oak Dog Park. The off-leash area is forested, well shaded and covered in wood chips on one side while on the other it is partially mulch-covered, grassy and unobstructed.
There are wooden benches and picnic tables located throughout the park which enable owners to remain comfortable while they watch their canine companions play and make new friends. The Pleasant Oak Dog Park is equipped with a water hose that helps keep canines hydrated and clean.
Needless to say, make sure to pack a towel for your furball’s paws to avoid a messy car ride back home. Free waste bag dispensers are available as well as environmentally-friendly pooper-scoopers that encourage owners to clean up after their canines and keep the Pleasant Oak Dog Park well-maintained and poop-free.
Given the Pleasant Oak Dog Park’s features, it is a great location if you live in the area that can be used in addition to long walks with your canine best friend or for scheduled play dates. Luckily, the rest of the park and its trails are open to dogs too as long as they remain leashed.
