Rancho Santa Margarita Dog Park (at Canada Vista Park)

Rancho Santa Margarita Dog Park is a public dog park located at the Canada Vista Park in Rancho Santa Margarita, California. In addition to the dog park, the Canada Vista Park features baseball fields and a popular skate park which is in front of the dog park. There is a small trail that leads to the dog park which is a few minutes away by foot from the parking lot. 

The Rancho Santa Margarita dog park is very well-equipped and features everything you would want in a dog park. It has an open space layout and a separate area for small dog breeds, though it is not large, it provides enough space for dogs to stretch their legs. The park's surface is covered in grass and dirt, so make sure to bring a towel with you if you visit on a rainy day as playtime can get muddy. 

This well-maintained dog park offers plenty of seating as there are several benches, shaded seating spots, and picnic areas scattered throughout the park, allowing owners to keep their pooches in sight as they enjoy their leash-free exercise. There are some agility obstacles for more active dogs, which include an A-frame and hoops to jump through. 

The dog park is also equipped with water fountains for canine hydration. On top of that, there is a toy basket that owners are welcome to borrow toys from for the duration of their visit, especially if there aren't many dogs in the park at the time, which is quite often. 

Though the park has many great features including a snake fencing, rattlesnakes are common in the area, and thus not many dog owners bring their dogs to this park. With plenty of parking and great amenities, the Rancho Santa Margarita is a great location if you prefer quieter, less crowded parks. However, make sure to supervise your pooch’s playtime as rattlesnakes roam in the area.
