Raymond G. Gamma Dog Park is a large facility located on 1.5 acres of land. It is the only park of six in the area that allows off-leash play in its fenced runs. Though the play enclosures themselves are off-leash zones, it is required by park officials that all dogs be on a lead when traveling to and from the designated play areas.
This public space is well-maintained and earns high marks from park visitors for its cleanliness and attention to detail. Benches are provided in shaded areas throughout the fenced enclosures to provide excellent and comfortable vantage points from which owners can observe their dogs at play.
Water bowls filled with fresh, clean water are plentiful throughout the facility to ensure that all dogs are well-hydrated during their play time at in the runs. Complimentary poop bags are also provided to assist owners with cleaning up and properly disposing of any waste materials left behind by their dogs.
The park operates daily from sunrise to sunset with the exception of Thursdays when it is closed for regular maintenance. However, inclement weather can cause unforeseen closures. Restrooms are available via portable units for dog owners in need of using the facilities during their visit to the park.
Though there are no formal regulations put in place by park officials, it is highly recommended that all dogs visiting the park be current on vaccinations and bear the appropriate dog license tag for their state. Socially inappropriate dogs and dogs displaying aggressive behaviors will be asked to vacate the premises.
For families looking to enjoy a leisurely afternoon, the park is equipped with areas suitable for picnicking and also includes barbecues for public use. Many park visitors praise the fact that this great dog space has an abundance of grass for their dogs to enjoy as they expend their energies at the park.
