At the Roaring River State Park, you may not hear the river roar, but your four-legged family members will be roaring about it to their fur buddies after you take them there. The river is just one of the fun adventures at this 3,400-acre park full of activities. Your dog is welcome to go with you as long as they are on a leash no longer than six feet long.Â
With gorgeous limestone bluffs and several miles of trails for you to explore, you and your pup will be able to get plenty of exercise while you are at the Roaring River State Park. The seven trails here vary from easy to difficult. The Roaring River Spring does sound like it is roaring at times as it produces more than twenty million gallons of water every day. The spring provides excellent trout fishing, but don't forget to get your trout stamp along with your Missouri fishing permit if you plan to fish here. Â
There is no fee to enter the park, but you will have to pay if you want to camp. This is a very popular spot in the heart of the Missouri Ozarks, so you may want to reserve your camping spot ahead of time by going to the website or calling the park office. In addition to rustic camping sites, there are also cabins, some of which are dog-friendly under the Cabins for Canines program. You will also find a restaurant, supply store, picnic areas, and many other amenities for your convenience.Â
While you are visiting the Roaring River State Park, your dog can join you for most of the activities, but note that pets are not allowed inside any buildings, or on swimming areas or beaches, which includes the pool on site. Be sure to have drinking water on hand to share with your thirsty pup, as well as clean-up bags, and always stoop and scoop wherever you go in the park.
