Rockwall Paws Dog Park is a public dog park located at the Harry Meyers Park in Rockwall, Texas. In addition to the dog park, the Harry Meyers Park is home to a swimming pool, a community center, an amphitheater, a splash pad, playgrounds, and baseball fields. It also features three ponds, picnic areas, pavilions, barbeque grills, and public restrooms.Â
The park itself is the ideal location for an outdoor day with the entire family, including the four-legged members who can join their owners on the various trails that run through the park as long as they are leashed. The one-and-a-quarter acre dog park is very popular in the area due to its convenient layout and amenities.Â
It is securely fenced and divided into two sections for dogs to roam freely in without a leash. There is a large dog area that provides plenty of space for dogs to run and play and another area that is smaller for small dog breeds to socialize in.Â
Though the large dog area is spacious and has lots of shade thanks to the numerous trees growing in it, the small dog area is flat, with only one tree and thus it is mostly unshaded. Keep this in mind when picking a day to visit and consider packing an umbrella and wearing sunscreen!Â
Unlike the small dog section, the large dog area is lined with both trees and benches so dog owners can remain comfortable as they watch their pooches make new friends. Dog waste bag dispensers are also available and can be found by the entrances to the off-leash area, as well as by the fence throughout the dog park.Â
The Rockwall Paws Dog Park is equipped with human and canine water fountains that are located in the common area. In addition to the above, parking is ample so make sure to check out this beautiful park if you and Fido happen to live in the area or are just passing by.Â
