The San Marcos Dog Park located at Memorial Park is beautiful 2-acre park designated for dogs to run off leash. It has separate areas to accommodate both the little dogs and their larger friends. You are required to keep your furry friend on a leash until entering the dog park gate. Pet parents also need to place a leash on their dog before leaving the gated area of the dog park.Â
This dog park is excellent for dogs to play and get exercise. It has a doggie water fountain with a community dog bowl. However, you can always bring a bowl with you and fill it up at the fountain. The park has a grassy area with open room for dogs to run in any direction they wish.Â
At the San Marcos Dog Park, pet parents are also accommodated with the provided benches, picnic tables, picnic shelters, and water fountains. The park is a great place for dog parents to relax while you watch your dog play and socialize with other dogs.Â
Park rules at the San Marcos Dog Park require owners to clean the park of pet waste. The park provides a pet mitt dispenser and trash station. However, you should always bring along pet poop bags just in case they run out at the park.
Dogs that visit this designated area are required to have a rabies vaccination and other required vaccines plus a dog license when they visit this park. Displaying the vaccination and license tags on your dog's collar is recommended. Pet owners are responsible for their dog’s dogs conduct at the park.
