Tucked into the northwest corner of the park, beside a steep, treed slope, this doggy fun zone is fully fenced. Its light mulch is easy on the paws, and a shade tree sits almost dead center, a fine spot for dogs and their families to rest and stay comfortable. The cool ocean breezes that wash over the park are refreshing as well. The puppy playland is rectangular, its length just pawrfect for frisbee, fetch and running. Herding dogs will love the room it provides to keep those other unruly puppers under control!
Equipped with a dog-level water fountain, the park also features waste bag dispensers and trash containers to deposit the filled bags. While there are water bowls scattered here and there, it's wise to bring your own container to avoid exposing your fur-baby to Giardia and other infections sometimes found in public bowls.Â
If, after an energetic playtime, you want to cool Fido down both physically and mentally, try taking a stroll on-leash on the paved path that runs around the perimeter of the larger park. In fact, pooches are welcome in all parts of the park on leash, including picnic areas and the lush grassy fields pawrfect for rolling and lolling.Â
Access to the dog park is via the Santiago and Trinidad Drive entrances, and is just a short walk on the paved path. Free parking is available on both streets. Please be courteous to the residents in the surrounding area when parking.Â
One of 560 mostly dog-friendly parks in Orange County, Sea Canyon Park and its pooch playground provide a welcome space for outdoor recreation for every member of the family. If you're a resident, or happen to be visiting, try it out!
