The Seguin Dog Park, or Barky Park as it is also known, is an off-leash dog park in Seguin, Texas. Located in the city's Max Starcke Park, this dog park has a parking lot close by. It takes a short walk to get from the lot to the dog park, and pups shouldn't be unleashed until they get to the designated off-leash zone. This dog park in Seguin has been created with all sizes of dogs in mind.Â
Big and small don't need to fall over each other's paws as they have individual areas to call their own and they're safe as they've been fully fenced with five-foot-high chain link. The grass-covered compounds are dotted with mature oak and pecan trees which provide some good shade when they're in leaf.Â
Pups have also got a couple of cement tunnels to crawl through and several fire hydrants to practice their leg lifting techniques against. No animal other than dogs are allowed inside the off-leash areas so when pet owners spot a squirrel infringing the rules, they need to send it on its way.Â
If a pup isn't wearing a tag for proof of rabies vaccination, a pet parent needs to carry the certificate with them as the park monitors may well ask them to produce it. Any dog which is not wearing a collar with an identification tag will be asked to leave. Owners of large breeds should make sure they utilize the right dog run.Â
The small pup area is for those fur babies weighing in at under twenty-five pounds. Making the wrong choice is just asking for trouble. Leaving a pup's poop on the ground is also asking for trouble. Pet parents are obliged to remove all the poops their puppy makes during their time in the off-leash area. Bags and mitts are supplied on-site, so there's no excuse for not retrieving feces and trashing it.
