The Sierra Vista Dog Park is a dog park in the city of Sierra Madre, California. This dog park is an area of the Sierra Vista Park which has been set aside for dogs to be exercised of their leashes. There are plenty of parking spaces, but to reach the off-leash areas, owners need to walk their dogs through the public park using the paved pathways and make sure their dogs do not run on the grass.
This dog park in Sierra Madre is a great place for exercising both small and large dogs. They each have their own independent areas to run around in. There are no worries of pooch breeds such as Chihuahuas or Terriers getting bowled over by the boisterous biggies. The whole off-leash area is fenced with chain-link as well as having shrubbery around some parts of the perimeter.
The grass which was the original surfacing has pretty much worn away to leave just compacted dirt, but most dogs are happy enough with that. There's a few boulders for pups to play on and some trees for shade. Definitely not a deluxe dog park by anyone's standards, the Sierra Vista dog park still has enough space for dogs to enjoy other dogs company without being overcrowded.
Owners have some benches to sit on, and the parks division has supplied poop scooping equipment. Which, as they like to remind folks, is not decorative, but is there to be used. It is advisable for pet owners to grab a poop bag or two from the dispensers in the main park while making their way to the off-leash areas of the Sierra Vista Dog Park.
Although there are trash bins for disposing of used bags, there are no bag dispensers in the dog park so you need to remember to bring your own. Dogs do need to be licensed and properly vaccinated before going to the Sierra Vista Dog Park in the City of Sierra Madre. All dog owners are fully responsible for making sure their dog's vaccinations are up to date before using the facility.
