Sigmund Stern Grove

Sigmund Stern Grove is the place to hang for people and pooches in San Francisco. This park has a seemingly endless amount of treats. It’s prided for it’s concert meadow that hosts festivals and world-class concerts in a scenic outdoor setting. Whether you’re looking for something to do, or not to do, you’re sure to enjoy the expansive groomed lawn, under the shade in the eucalyptus and pine groves. Possibly the best part though, is that this park has a large off-leash play area for the doggos!

The Sigmund Stern Grove Dog Park provides a safe place for your pup to enjoy some pawsitive socialization and burn off some energy. It is located next to the Vale Avenue Parking Lot, near the center of the park. This area is not well fenced in, but is very large and far away from cars so your pup can still feel safe. There are trees and tall grass that Fido will love to romp around in like a wild dog, and picnic tables where you can kick back and be entertained. Water stations are available for drinking and washing up, but you’ll need to bring your own waste bags.

The fun in this park doesn’t have to stop there! Your dog will love taking a jog or stroll around the pretty Pine Lake with you. This area is home to many migratory birds, so you may want to bring your binoculars. Other features in this park include a wide variety of athletic fields, a playground and picnic areas. Why not pack a lunch and stay for the day? Be warned that there is a very steep incline as you’re leaving the park that is sure to get your heart pumping.

Sigmund Stern Grove welcomes all people and pups as long as they leave no traces and are respectful of others. Dogs need to stay leashed when they’re not inside the dog park. With all the furtastic things to do in Sigmund Stern Grove, it gets locals raving and tails wagging every time!
