Silverwood Lake State Recreation Area

Silverwood Lake State Recreation Area is located in Hesperia, California. This beautiful state park and campground offers breathtaking views of the surrounding mountainous region. Dogs are permitted to join their families at this lovely recreational space; however, as with most state parks, they must remain on a lead. At this time, there is no designated dog play space at Silverwood Lake State Recreation Area. 

With this in mind, there are no on-site amenities for dogs. There is water access for both humans and dogs on the property. Here, owners can get some drinking water to keep their dogs well-hydrated during their visit to the park. Complimentary poop bags are not provided. Since it is the responsibility of all owners to clean up after their pets, each owner should ensure they have an ample supply of bags with them to assist with this task. 

Silverwood Lake State Recreation Area is a private state park and camping facility. Entrance to the grounds requires a park permit. A fee must be paid to obtain a permit, but it is not known what the precise cost is. Additionally, campsites are available by reservation only, and additional fees are applicable. Silverwood Lake itself is much-beloved, and many families enjoy swimming and windsurfing there. 

However, some families have remarked contracting cercarial dermatitis (swimmers' itch) from its waters, so it is best to proceed with caution. Other on-site activities include camping, hiking, biking, boating, scuba diving, snorkeling, fishing, and geocaching. There are also many nature trails for Fido and his family to explore together. 

The campground is home to a convenience store as well as bathrooms which contain showers with hot water access. Dogs visiting Silverwood Lake State Recreation Area must observe all pertinent California laws.
