For off-leash fun in Washington, Missouri, take your best friend to the South Point Bark Park! Your pup's tail will surely be wagging as they run, play, and make new friends at this fully fenced dog park!
Find the South Point Bark Park near the east end of the Rotary Riverfront Trail, behind the wastewater treatment plant. This 1.25-acre site is named for the part of town that it is located in, which is commonly referred to as the South Point area. Visit anytime between sunrise and sunset, and don't worry about the sun on hot days as there are large trees to provide shade. Mutt mitts are also available by the entrance in case you forgot to bring your own, and trash receptacles are scattered around the park to make clean-up a breeze. One picnic table gives dog parents a spot to sit while watching their furry kids. Remember to leave the snacks at home, as food is not allowed in the off-leash area.
Minimally furnished, the South Point Bark Park does not offer any agility equipment or toys, but this shouldn't be an issue with pups who love to run around and schmooze with other doggos. There is also no separate area for smaller canines yet, so if you have a larger pooch, make sure they behave properly around the littler ones. Be sure to bring your own water as the site does not have running water. While there is a 5-gallon container serving as the main water source, it is empty on some days, according to visitors.
Before you head to the dog park, make sure your pooch has been spayed or neutered and is current with their shots. Remove their leash only when you've stepped inside the fenced area. Practice good petiquette so that everyone can have a pawsitive time at the South Point Bark Park!
