Get ready for a serene retreat at the Stariski State Recreation Site with your furry friend and your human friends. The park is located on a bluff where you can see beautiful views of mountains. The quiet and secluded campground at Stariski is 60 acres of land and features 13 campsites as well as ADA friendly facilities. The largest RV the campground can accommodate is 35 feet.
Parking at the campground is $5 per day and to rent the campsite is $15 per night. The campground does not accept reservations, so it is strictly first come, first serve. The campground provides toilets, water, picnic shelters, and picnic tables. With many campgrounds and state parks, you and your pooch should respect the carry in carry out rule.
Always keep a plastic poop bag with you and pick up after your pup goes to the bathroom. The campground has a dump station so you can carry out anything anyone in your party brings in. Your furry friend should always be on a leash when you are at the campground. You also must always be with your dog and cannot leave your four-legged friend unattended.
The only time your pup can go off-leash is in the backcountry, but if your dog is off leash, your dog must be under voice command. Only an obedient pup could do this, and you are the best judge of whether or not your dog listens to your command. The pet policy also indicates that sled dogs should not be tied within 100' of a cabin.
When you're visiting Stariski State Recreation Site with your pooch, make sure your pup is up to date on any vaccinations and is in good health. You'll both want to enjoy the views of Mount Redoubt, Mount Augustine, and Mount Iliamna as you breathe in the fresh air atop the cliff.
