Description
Tijuana Estuary National State Park finds its home in Imperial Beach, California. Situated along the United States-Mexico border, this beloved recreational area sits on what is considered the largest wetland region in the United States. Over 90 percent of the former coastal wetlands have been developed leaving very few of these geographical features intact.

The Tijuana Estuary is a shallow body of water which will occasionally run dry during periods of drought. It is a valued and important part of the National Estuarine Research Reserve System. Dogs are welcome to join their owners at this state park, but as is the case with most public facilities, they must remain leashed at all times.

It is not known if bathrooms are housed on the grounds, and there is no water access provided. With this in mind, owners must come prepared with all of the necessary items for a great day at the park which includes drinking water, a dog dish, and poop bags. All pet waste removal is the responsibility of each owner.

It's important to note that there is no area reserved specifically for dog play at this park, and owners must take great care to ensure that their dogs do not disturb any wildlife indigenous to the region. Tijuana Estuary National State Park is one of the few salt marsh areas remaining the United States today.

This lovely recreational area is a public facility, and there is no fee to access the premises. There are several interesting attractions for visiting families to enjoy including walking trails and bird watching. The area where the estuary meets the Pacific Ocean is breathtaking to behold.

Tijuana Estuary National State Park carefully observes all California state law. As such, dogs are to be current on all vaccinations and must bear an up to date city dog license tag. Looking for a great new park to explore? Why not stop by Tijuana Estuary National State Park?

Wag! does not allow or encourage Pet Care Providers to bring dogs to parks.
