The Tipps Canine Hollow is part of the Northfield Park in the town of North Richland Hills, Texas. It is a spacious, five-acre site reserved just for the off-leash exercising of dogs. It is very well maintained and is a popular dog park. There is a good sized parking lot right by the entrance to the dog park.
The off-leash area is fully enclosed by a shoulder-high chain-link fence and has a secure double gated staging area for the leashing and unleashing of dogs. Also, a large part has been sectioned off for small dogs weighing under thirty-six pounds. Puppies are required to be six months or older before being allowed into the dog park. The off-leash area has a mixed surface. Some parts are covered with rough grass, others with dirt, and some are paved with concrete. There are lots of mature trees spread throughout the off-leash area which offer great shade on sunny days.
Handlers are limited to exercising no more than two dogs at any one time. All dogs using the facility must have a current license and their vaccinations up to date. They should also be wearing the appropriate tags on their collars. Owners should remain in full sight of their dog and have them under proper voice control. It is not permitted to take any food, including dog treats, into the off-leash area. A water fountain has been installed and there are several poop bag dispensers on site. Owners are required to clean up all waste produced by their dogs and deposit used poop bags in the containers provided.
Children under seven years of age are not allowed into the dog park. Children under twelve must be accompanied by an adult. Children are not allowed to run or shout while inside the dog park. Pet owners should note the park is closed for maintenance once a week on a Wednesday when it doesn't open until 11 AM.
