Take a walk on the sprawling lawns and let your pup explore. Hike along the trails, such as the Los Gatos Creek Trail which traverses the park, and extends out north and south along the Los Gatos Creek. Have a picnic in one of the picnic areas which can also be reserved for group events. Other pupular activities here are biking, horseshoes, and volleyball. You and you pup can even rent a paddle or row boat to head out onto the reservoir for some water fun or fishing in season. The reservoir is an anglers' paradise and teems with black bass, crappie, bluegill, and catfish.
In the months of June and July each year, the Vasona County Park proudly hosts a series of free outdoor concerts. Also housed on the premises is the Youth Science Institute which offers programs to help young people learn more about the resources indigenous to the region.
There is a $6 admission fee per vehicle to access the park, with parking available in various lots throughout. With several human restrooms on site, you can easily spend an afternoon here. Disposable scoopers are provided on the grounds for dogs, so be sure to always stoop and scoop. Also be sure your dog is current on vaccinations and has a city license. Tote along enough water to share with your thirsty pup too.
For a day of fun in the California sun, bring Fido and the family to Vasona County Park!
