Description
Veterans Dog Park is located within the much-beloved Veterans Park in Chula Vista, California. This family-friendly play space is situated on 12 acres of land. One of the hallmarks of this pristine space is the Walk of Honor which is lined with bricks bearing the names of veterans who fought for American liberties during wartime.

The dog portion of this park is fully fenced. It is a large space comprised mostly of grass and dirt. Off-leash play is permitted in the dog run; however, owners are required to retain a lead with them in case of an emergency. In addition to this, dogs must be leashed when coming to and from the enclosure as well as in all other areas of the park.

Ample seating is provided throughout the dog park region to allow Fido's owners a comfortable spot to relax and enjoy watching their dogs at play. Though no drinking water is available at this park, there are bathrooms on-site for public use. Owners should bring a bottle of water and a suitable drinking vessel with them to help keep Fido well-hydrated during his playtime.

Access to this public facility is free of charge. Visitors to the park can choose from a number of recreational activities including baseball, basketball, volleyball, and skateboarding. A gymnasium and playground are housed on the property for children to enjoy. Also on-site is a recreation center which can be reserved for private events.

Barbecues are provided on the premises for use by visitors to the park. In addition to this, there is plentiful picnic style seating to allow families to enjoy a home-cooked meal on the grounds. It is unknown if poop bags are provided at this public park. However, it is mandated by law that all visitors to the dog area pick up and properly dispose of all canine waste.

Though no specific regulations govern the use of this public space, it is wise for all dogs to be current on vaccinations. It is also advisable for all dogs to bear the appropriate required state license tag. For a park with a commitment to honoring historical contributions that also offers fun things for Fido and the family too, make a visit to Veterans Dog Park!

Wag! does not allow or encourage Pet Care Providers to bring dogs to parks.
