Hookups are not available, but there are hot showers and clean restrooms to keep campers fresh. Sites are available on a first-come, first-served basis and visitors say the campground fills up fast, so come early to snag a good spot!
The park also includes hiking trails that wind through Monterey pine forest and offer puptacular views of the bay. For a longer hike, you and Fido can venture into the adjacent, 81-acre Huckleberry Hill Nature Preserve. Simply follow the Veterans Park Trail abutting the western edge of the campground to the Presidio View Trail to reach the preserve. Be sure to take your time walking along the Presidio View Trail and enjoy the panoramic views of the city down below.
Other amenities at Veterans Memorial include a lawn playfield, picnic areas, a basketball court, and play equipment. Wherever you go, always keep your doggo on a leash and bring clean-up bags.
