Located in the Diamond Heights neighborhood, Walter Haas Dog Park seems to sit on top of the world on a lovely hill and overlooks the downtown San Francisco area. It offers scenic views of the San Francisco Bay as well. The park itself is located on the border of Glen Park and Diamond Heights. And while this park is named Walter Haas, it is referred to as Diamond Heights or Haas Park by the locals.
The 4 acre, public park has been renovated recently and is home to a playground, basketball court, and fenced-in dog area. It is a well-maintained park and has been known to be a really clean area to bring your dog to.
The fenced-in dog area allows for dogs to be off-leash and engaged with other dogs who are at the park. The whole fenced-in area provides packed sand and several boulders for dogs to play on. This friendly park is great for all types of dog breeds.
The park follows the rules and regulations set up by San Francisco, which means dogs should be leashed when not in the off-leash area, owners should clean up after their pets and all dogs should be licensed and vaccinated.
While this park is amazing to sit and take in the views as well as to play with your beloved dog, the biggest downside is that it does not offer a public restroom. So, it is highly recommended you go before coming to the park.
Overall, this wonderful park comes highly rated by dog owners. It’s quite a popular park for families and dog owners alike. The scenic views will put you at peace while your dog gets to run off some energy. Just be sure to clean up after your dog and keep him or her leashed when not in the fenced-in dog area.
