The Wiggly Field Dog Park is a public dog park located at the Lake Forest Park in Denton, Texas. In addition to the dog park, the 63-acre Lake Forest Park is home to a variety of nature trails, a lake, a pond, and a playground. It is an ideal location for a relaxing day outdoors with the entire family.Â
The Wiggly Field Dog Park was opened in 2006 and has since become a local favorite for canine socialization and off-leash exercise, especially of those living within walking distance to the park. It is fenced, has a thoughtfully designed layout, and it is equipped with everything you would need in a dog park.Â
There is a training area, as well as two separate off-leash areas for dogs to roam around in, both of which are very spacious, allowing dogs to feel the freedom and enjoy exploring with their canine friends. The first area is meant for small dog breeds, while the other accommodates the large hounds. Both areas are equipped with doggie and human water fountains.Â
Benches and picnic tables are scattered throughout the park, enabling owners to remain comfortable as they supervise their four-legged buddy’s leashless fun. Dog waste bags are available at the dog park, in case the dog owners forget their own. Make sure to pack a towel for your pooch as the dog park features a pond that dogs can swim in, which can be found south of the dog park, and a fishing lake on the west end of the dog park.Â
Plus, there are several trails that dogs can sniff around on and explore without being leashed which is quite rare in comparison to most parks that require a leash on trails. Though there is a paved parking lot nearby, there are no restrooms by the dog park which is something to consider when planning a visit.Â
