While your pooch won't be able to run very far at top speed, there's plenty of play space. Large and small dogs are mixed here, so it's important to stay alert if you have a little fur-baby. There are posted "small dogs only" hours, but the sign is largely ignored and you may find large dogs here all the time. When pups get pooped, there are lots of shade trees to sit under, and benches for the doggy moms and dads. There are water fountains for both doggos and humans, and water bowls are scattered about the wood chip and dirt surface.Â
An unexpected cool-off can surprise you at 2:00 pm every day when the sprinklers come on to wet down the chips. Even the benches get wet, so you might want to bring a towel to sit on and to wipe the pooch's paws. The park provides waste bags and ample receptacles, so no excuse not to pick up after your pup.
The terrain is a little hilly in areas, and the surrounding green space outside of the off leash enclosure is leashed dog-friendly should you be inspired to get a little exercise yourself. Be aware that the fencing at this dog park is only 3 feet high, so if you have a jumper-pup, be sure to watch for attempted escapes.
This park is pawsome for its location, amenities and long hours. If you live in or near West Hollywood or are visiting there, it's a must-do adventure!
