Armour Square Park and it’s trails are the crown jewel of the neighborhood of Armour Square, Chicago. When living so close to a big city, pathways like these are a breath of fresh air. Armour Square Park itself is only just under 10 acres, with the trails being a total of 0.5 miles. Although they’re short, they’re perfect to do in a loop or to add on to your route through town.
Armour Square Park does not have a parking lot, but there is free street parking in the surrounding area. Why not save yourself the hassle all together and walk to the trails if possible? Your pooch will appreciate the extra time outside! Once you arrive, you will be greeted by a large fieldhouse. The fieldhouse has a variety of facilities including a fitness center, gymnasiums and multi-purpose rooms.
The walking trails in Armour Square Park have access points on all four sides of the park. They are paved, and partially shaded by tall trees. These aspects of the trails make them comfortable for people and pups of all fitness levels. There are benches along the way, where Fido can rest his paws and you can enjoy some peaceful contemplation in nature, or people watching.
On your travels, you’re likely to see sports being played on the surrounding athletic fields and courts, families having picnics, and children playing on the jungle equipment. The trails are often frequented by joggers, dog walkers, and commuters. You may even have the chance to make some furry friends!
Dogs are welcome to join their humans on these trails, as long as your pupper is leashed and picked up after at all times. Be sure to have clean up bags handy.
The Armour Square Park Trails are a refreshing dose of nature within the city, that are pawfect for some quality time with your best pal.
