Parking for the trail can be found on the southwest corner of the park along the street. The street isn't busy and will provide plenty of time for you and Fido to get out safely and enter the trail, where a small sitting area marks the beginning of the path. The path is surrounded by green grass on both sides, with trees lining the west side of the trail that offers shade and sitting areas. About a third of the way along the trail, you and Fido will be treated with another seating area at the Bliss Point, a small scenic section of the park where visitors can get good photos and views of the river.
The trail curves east at this point as it continues along the river, following past more trees and scrubs. At the halfway point, another sitting area is found around a tree, along with two picnic tables near trees where you and Fido can take a break. Continuing on the trail tkes you to a fork, with the left turn following closer along the river, and the right sticking near the trees and shrubs on the inside of the park. The split trails connect back to each other after a tenth of a mile, then winds south until the trail connects to the main road where it ends. From here, you and your leashed pup will have to turn around to get back to your car.
River views, shaded sitting areas, and quiet area marks the perfect place to take Fido out for a walk along the Canalport Riverwalk Trail.
