Description

Visit the city of Redding today and take your pup for a puptastic hike through the Cascade Community Park located here in sunny California! Pup-friendly throughout, this park offers lots of amenities, including hiking trails that will suit any pup-ability!

The park’s trailheads can be accessed directly from the parking lot. There are two trails to consider – just ask your pup which one he wants to take? How about a ½-mile trail on paved ground which runs around the perimeter of the park? You will enjoy this loop trail to see all the amenities of the pawtastic park while spending some quality time with your fur-ever friend.

The hike will take you along Olney Creek, and there are spur trails which you can meander along which take you to the Sacramento River. These are dirt trails running for approximately .37-miles. Open spaces, landscaped grounds and river views all make for spectacular scenery and great photographic opportunities. Any pup-ability will enjoy these trails, and they are the perfect length for newbie pup hikers to introduce them to this great outdoor adventure.

Cascade Community Park is full of other features besides hiking that can add to your visit. There are sports courts, a BMX bike trail and a picnic area under the shade trees to enjoy sharing a lunch together. Relax on the park benches after your hike and do some people watching. If your pup is elderly or not-so-people-friendly, this is a quiet park where they can acclimate to noise and being around others.

Keep your pup on leash throughout and please clean up after them. Trash receptacles can be found scattered around the park. Restrooms and water fountains are accessible year-round.

The Cascade Community Park is pup-friendly and just waiting for you and Fido to visit!

Wag! does not allow or encourage Pet Care Providers to bring dogs to parks.
