Description

You can’t go wrong asking your pup if they want to take a hike in the beautiful state of Colorado! If you are looking for a great hiking location with your pawtastic pup, then head out to the Crosier Mountain Glen Haven Trail #931-2 near the town of Drake.

Located on the way to Rocky Mountain National Park, this hike is in between the town of Loveland and thr park, and is just a short drive from either location. You will access this trail and park your car at the Crosier Mountain Garden Gate Trailhead parking lot on Glen Haven Road, which is also called County Road 43. There are six vehicle spots which is usually adequate for this lightly-travelled trail.

For the pup who likes to hike, this is the perfect spot. The trail has a medium grade and runs for a distance of 3.3 miles. You both will be traveling through beautiful meadows which are beaming with wildflowers during the spring season and lots of pine trees when you enter the more forested areas of the trail. Some small water crossings are to be expected with rocks on the trail and a few switchbacks. The trail ends at the summit of Croiser Mountain with spectacular views of Estes Park and Rocky Mountain National Forest. The trail joins up with the Garden Gate Trail and is steeper for the last ½ mile of your journey to the summit.

There is no water access nor restrooms on this trail, so be sure to plan accordingly and bring any necessary supplies. Make sure to offer your pup plenty of water and rest breaks for this higher altitude area.

The Crosier Mountain Glen Haven Trail is a great place to enjoy an outing with your furry friend in lovely Colorado. Check it out today!
