This pawsome three mile trail is a fairly flat hike. It's a great way to train your endurance without biting off more than you can chew. The loop is broken up by informative signs along the way. You can learn about the native plant species that the John Heinz National Wildlife Refuge works to preserve. You can also match some of the more common water fowl guests to their signs!Â
When you reach the southernmost point of your journey, you have a choice to make. You can continue back north again, letting East Impoundment Trail take you back to the visitor's center, Or you can follow the signs to access seven more miles of trails in the John Heinz National Wildlife Refuge! Either way, your dog will love the puppertunity to join you on a fun hike that doesn't take all day to get to. Conveniently located close to Philadelphia, this major urban center is brighter with a great hike nearby.Â
