Flagler Trail is located about 20 minutes from Orlando, and if you're looking for a pawesome new place to explore with Fido, search no further! The trail is just under nine miles long, so if you're new to hiking, you might not want to attempt the whole trail on your first try. Luckily, the trail's design makes this easy. The first section of the hike is straight in, but the second section begins when the trail forks. From there, the trail loops around, bringing you out on the other side of the fork.
Locals say that this trail is the busiest on the weekends, but it's a little bit quieter during the week. Still, this is a very pupular trail, so you and your dog can expect to see other hikers out with their dogs. Maybe Fido will make a friend or two!
The trail is densely packed with trees, flowers, and other greenery, so while there's plenty of shade along the path, it also gets quite humid. You'll want to be certain that you have plenty of water on hand for both you and your canine companion.
Fifi is welcome to join you on the trail any time! In fact, Flagler Trail prides itself on being dog-friendly. All they ask in return is two things. The first is that you clean up after your pup! No one wants to accidentally step in any messes left behind. No waste baggies are provided for you, so make sure you bring some of your own from home. You must also keep your furry friend on their leash at all times; this is non-negotiable. Different types of animals -- from bears to snakes to alligators -- have been spotted near the trail, and no one wants your dog to get hurt.
Flagler Trail is a beautiful and scenic hiking spot that you and your pup will both enjoy!
