This small neighborhood park doesn't have many amenities, but it offers plenty of peace and quiet under a green canopy of trees. You'll find an information kiosk once you enter the park, where you can learn more about the surrounding area. Street parking can be found nearby, but be sure to check the signs when parking in residential areas to avoid getting a ticket. If possible, why not walk to the park? Your four-legged friend will love the extra time spent with their favorite human. Once you arrive, you can begin your adventure on the Palisades Trail.Â
This nature trail meanders through the trees and over a pretty footbridge. The trail surface is made up of bricks and dirt. Because of the lush greenery, the area is popular among birdwatchers. Don't forget your binoculars! Along your travels, you'll come across a historic covered spring house. The park also offers plenty of open green spaces, where you and your pup can stretch out on the cool grass. It's a great place to enjoy a picnic, read a book, or take a nap in the shade with your best pal.Â
Dogs are welcome in this park with both paws, and you're likely to meet some other puppy pals along the way. Pet-parents are asked to please keep their dogs leashed and under control at all times. Be sure to bring along water and some waste bags, and pick up after your pup.Â
Fort Bennet Park and Palisades Trail will have your doggo leaping for joy!
