Jubilee Lake is nestled in the Umatilla National Forest in Northern Oregon. A campground, boat ramp, fishing, and hiking, make it a pupular summer recreation spot. Both four legged and two legged locals love to escape the heat at this high elevation lake. Your furry hiking buddy will love trotting around the Jubilee Lake Trail.
The loop trail starts and ends at the boat ramp. It can also be accessed from the campsites. If you decide to camp a night or two, you just have to roll out of the tent and onto the trail! Follow the dirt path as it runs alongside the edge of the lake and passes through fragrant pine trees. Your pup can hunt for the perfect stick or go for a dip in the water to cool off. The trail is wide and fairly flat, so your knees shouldn’t have any complaint. Take advantage of the benches that are placed along the way. Paws for a water break or just sit and soak up the furrific lakeside scenery with your pup by your side.
Restrooms and drinking water are available at Jubilee Lake Campground. There are also a couple restrooms placed at the trail’s midpoint. Since it is nestled in such high elevation, the area doesn’t open until July. But once it does open, it gets pretty busy, so try to arrive early. If your doggo is well behaved and under voice control, they can enjoy this trail sans leash. Just remember to keep an eye on them and clean up whatever they may put down. Before setting off on the trail, make sure your water bottles are full to the brim and that you’ve got plenty of bug spray. A hike on the Jubilee Lake trail will definitely make your pup’s tail wag!
